      <description>
         Buzz around town is that the secondary tests on well 11 in the town of Clinton once again tested positive for E coli. It is very important to note that water boiling alert was taken off because the well is not - repeat - is not - being used. That doesn't mean the water department doesn't have a pain in the back end trying to figure out where the fecal matter is coming from, human or animal and how it can be stopped. Thankfully there was some rain this weekend which takes a a bit of pressure off of the other wells, but if we have a long dry stretch again as the forecast looks all week, this well being out of service may tax the system a bit. More info may be gleaned at tomorrows council meeting. Source

      <description>
         What is odorless, colorless and could be a serious health problem that may be right under your nose? The answer is radon. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wants you to know that radon is a naturally-occurring gas that could be seeping into your home right now. Although testing for radon is easy and inexpensive, only one in five homeowners has actually tested his or her home for radon. That figure is too low given that, each year, over 20,000 people die from lung cancer caused by exposure to radon; it is the leading cause of lung cancer deaths in non-smokers.

      <title>New Jersey military vets towns to commemorate Veterans Day</title>

      <description>
         Local military veterans will be holding services and other events this week to commemorate Veterans Day.

The holiday, originally called Armistice Day, was created to honor veterans of World War I. The armistice effectively ending the war was signed on Nov. 11, 1918. In 1954, Congress passed legislation setting Nov. 11 as a day to honor American veterans of all wars.
