Revelation Generation, Christian music festival, coming to Kingwod Twp. farm

KINGWOOD TWP. — Revelation Generation, an annual summer Christian music festival here, now in its sixth year, has added rock legend Lou Gramm (of Foreigner) to its Labor Day weekend music festival on Saturday and Sunday, noon-10 p.m.

Poetry weekend planned in Frenchtown

A long weekend of poetry is planned in Frenchtown for Sept. 9-12.  Frenchtown poet Ray Brown’s book, “I Have His Letters Still,” was just released, and he’ll be signing copies each day at the Open Space Gallery, 36 Bridge St., 10 a.m.-9 p.m. (10 a.m.-7p.m. Sunday). During a reception open to the public, he will read from his work each evening, 7-9 p.m. Thur.-Sat., 5-7 p.m. Sunday.

Classic Porsches at Red Mill in Clinton

CLINTON — A collection of classic Porsche cars will be on display at the “The Red Mill Museum Concours D’Elegance,” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11.  The show, organized by the Northern New Jersey Region, Porsche Club of America, will benefit the Red Mill Museum Village. The club was founded in 1957 and has been involved in a number of charitable events during that time along with educational programs and Porsche car events.

Fire breaks out in dryer at a Raritan Twp. townhome residents evacuated

RARITAN TWP.— A fire broke out yesterday morning around 9 a.m. at a townhome at Saxonney Circle. The homeowner reported to police that there was a fire inside her clothes dryer, police said. A red glow coming from underneath the machine had prompted her to open the door at which point she discovered the flames, police said.

August 24th Fairways Board meeting rescheduled to September 9th

The August 24th Board meeting at Clinton Fire Dept. has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 9th due to a meeting conflict. Notice will be posted here and at all mailbox stations. At the September 9th Open Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees plans to adopt several new policy resolutions regarding the following:
  1. Use and storage of LP (Liquid Propane) grills/tanks & cooking equipment, charcoal grills and open-flame devices at Fairways at Beaver Brook
  2. Parking Procedures
  3. Board of Trustees "Code of Conduct"
  4. A System of Covenants Enforcement (updated fines schedule)
  5. Due Process Procedures
  6. Collection of Delinquent Assessments
The Board will also will ratify appointment of a new Board member to fill a vacated seat expiring in December 2010. All homeowners are invited to attend this important meeting.

Trash Pickup: Monday and Thursday.
Service provided by Raritan Valley Disposal.
 
Keep Fairways Clean. Anchor recyclables on windy days, or wait until the next pickup date to avoid having your recycling blow all over the community. Return containers promptly and store them inside your garage.
